Be Safe In The Water

Have you ever swam under and over very strong waves? Well we did. Room 5 on 15th June were introduced to a lifeguard. His name was Sean. First of all we talked about what beaches we'd been to. Then we were put into two groups for relays. We had to use boogyboards. After that we started to talk about if we could swim through big waves. Sean picked four people to make the big waves in the pool. It was cool! We had to swim through the waves, then we had to swim under them. That was cool too, and a bit tricky. When our time was up with Sean I was thankful that he came because he helped us to be safe in the water.

It was fun watching the teams competing in the boogyboard relays. Attaching the leash to your wrists and taking it off looked tricky, but it's important to know how to do that because as Sean said the board could save your life one dau if you're bobbing around in the sea.

Good morning Room 5,

It’s Chris here from Watersafe Auckland, the Pool Guy!

I have just been reading through your blogs and I thought that they were fantastic. It’s so great to hear your wonderful stories about how you enjoy using the pool. You are all doing a great job at learning new things, and I really enjoy helping your class.

If you ask me really nicely next time you are all in the pool we will play a brand new game!!!!

Take care,

From Chris
