It was a sunny, hot and exciting day when Room 5 and 6 did something FUN.
On Friday 9 September we played futsal. I like playing futsal, it is my favourite new sport. First we had to get into our groups. Then we counted how many mininos (Portuguese for boys) and how many minanas Portuguese for(girls) there were. Room 5 played against Room 6. I thought our game was easy but guess what? It was hard because of one player in the Futsal Champs team, Agnes. She was really hard to get through. But then guess what happened? Tricia got a goal for us! Then she got another goal. When the time was up my team were glad because we had to play against the Lace Ups team from Room 6. I was freaked out because they looked really good. Juliano blew the whistle so the game could start. My palms were sweaty. I heard the whistle, it was really loud so I blocked my ears. Then everyone started to run. B e e E E P the whistle blew because I touched the ball. If you touch the ball with your hand the other team gets the ball. It was embarrassing because everyone was looking at me.
Finally the game was over and I was very happy because I was exhausted!
Haere mai, welcome to our blog. We are a year 5 & 6 class in Auckland, New Zealand. Our teacher is Mrs Richardson.

Gum Should Be Allowed At School
I think gum should be allowed at school because…..
Firstly, it has a good taste and there are different flavours.
Secondly children can have fun making big bubbles with it.
Lastly children can find gum in big lollipops.
So I think gum should be allowed in schools.

All Children Should Get Holiday Homework
It would be cool to get good grades. That’s why I like the idea of holiday homework.
Firstly, children will get smarter.
Secondly, it will stop the children from getting bored.
Lastly, they can show their family that all children are good learners.
So remember to ask your teacher for some homework before the holidays come.

St Patrick's Pool

Holidays – a time for just relaxing and having fun. St Patrick’s got something cool and amazing from Watersafe Auckland. In the second week of the holidays they got a swimming pool put on the tennis court.
You must be wondering why we got a swimming pool in the first place? Well Watersafe Auckland lent St Patrick’s a pool so that the kids can learn how to be safe around water. I was really, really overwhelmed at first but now I am used to seeing the pool. On Monday, Wednesday and Thursday we have aquatics. I found out that the pool has a chemical called chlorine. The chemical makes the water clear.
Everytime we go and have a swim we play games like Salmon Says and Captain’s Coming. I have fun and I really, enjoy doing aquatics that’s why I’m looking forward to this week. I feel refreshed when I come out of the water.

BASEBALL
How does it feel when you try your best to hit the ball but then you get out? I’ve been there today when we were playing baseball. The first thing we had to do was warm up. I had to get a partner, who was Frankie. When we finished my class had to field and Room 6 batted. It was so much fun getting Room 6 out. I am looking forward to playing next week because I want to try even better to get a home run.
